About TSA
|
|
Transvaal Sub-Aqua was founded in 1966 by Dr Pieter Landsberg and a number of spearfishing and scuba diving enthusiasts. It was initially affiliated to the Transvaal Angling Union. Its members were frequently successful in spearfishing competitions. The focus of TSA gradually changed until scuba diving dominated all other underwater activities. The club is owned by its members and is operated as a non-profit organisation that is managed by an annually elected committee. The powers of this committee are controlled by the club's constitution. TSA's pioneering origins in the Wild East hold many mad and wonderful memories of crazy people and remarkable times - some of which are related in the stories. If you were part of these stories, or would like to contribute, please email the WebSlave. Our Clubhouse at Cinderella Dam was our main meeting place. In the quiet and privacy of this location, we conducted training sessions, lectures and social events. However, as crime overcame law and order in SA, this place was so frequently burgled and vandalised that we could no longer keep restoring it, so it was abandoned in 2002. In 2003, we located a much more secure site in Impala Park, Boksburg. To view/download maps, select the hyperlink and press BACK to return -
